Lake Artzan - Amatov or the ghost lake is located near Vafeiochori. It was partly dried out in 1934. Its area ​​presently varies depending on the season and climatic conditions. The Artzan-Amatov maintains a sufficient number of bird species (9) and offers a milestone in the migration path to the Central and Northern Europe. It belongs to the network of small wetlands in northern Greece.
